! This is my second order from ooshirts and I'm such a big fan already. The quality of the shirts and printings is always stellar, the shipping is always timely and convenient, and their prices are fantastic making it a really easy investment for me as an independent artist! I'll be selling my shirts from ooshirts for a long time! The only thing they don't have to my knowledge is a make-to-order system so that I can link a storefront on their website and have the orders fulfilled through their system, that would make my life even easier! But honestly, I'm really happy just bulk ordering shirts and selling them in person, because seeing the smiles on the faces of the customers really makes selling the shirts worthwhile!

If you're looking for ways to support your favorite artists, I definitely recommend buying their merch, it helps so much more than streaming their music ever will. Especially with the advent of AI music and its prevelance in the spotify algorithm, there's no way that small artists like myself can compete with never-ending ripoff music tailor made for the algorithm, BY THE ALGORITHM. It feels like we're at an end game on music being a possible career choice for humans, UNLESS you support your favorite artists directly. Streams won't make a career, and not even close to a live-able wage, but a shirt that you love, a vinyl you own, or even a sticker on your hydro flask is enough to keep us going!

Reflections: 6 Months of Releases

           The Last Six Months

Starting in November of 2024, I decided I was going to post a new release to my streaming platforms every month for as long as I am able.

was my launchpad for what has become the last six months of releases, and I'm really proud of myself for sticking with it so far. The reason I began to release a song every month was so I could get back to my roots in songwriting. I had spent so much time the last five years becoming a better music producer, that I became completely absorbed in the process and was barely creating new music. I was mostly a sound designer, and mix engineer. My goal in life is to write songs and perform them; that is my singular passion and the discipline that I have the most talent in as far as I can tell. With that in mind, the process of releasing music every month has been freeing, and stripping my focus away from the slog of feeding the endless content machine of social media has been a blessing for my longevity as an artist. I've finally been able to undertake projects I could only dream of when I was chasing the likes and looking for the clout. Now I'm focused on what will make me a better songwriter and performer.

           The Process

The process of writing has been a bit difficult, at least keeping pace with the one song per month quota that is. The writing itself is timeless. I sit down to write and when I've finished a song 8 hours have gone by and I've forgotten to eat dinner. It just feels effortless. But then being able to find the time to sit down and do that on top of everything else that I have to do in a day, or a week, that is where the struggle is. Weeks blend into months and suddenly it's mid-April and I forgot to upload the song that I had in March and now my "April" release is coming out on May 2nd. Whoops... Point being, a calendar and scheduled time to work on original music is critical for the success of this sort of release strategy.

Another qualm related to releasing every month is that I can't seem to persuade even myself to give each song its time in the spotlight. If I release a song that I love, I only really have a few weeks before the next one comes out that I'm less partial to, but still have to promote or at bare minimum talk about before the next one releases. It kind of feels like I'm struggling to stay ahead of this machine that I've created, or at least in the traditional social media way that people are used to seeing. But maybe that works to my advantage. You can't get tired of hearing a song that you've never heard. If I can get people interested in my songs through other avenues and just use my social platforms as a means for introducing new listeners to my personality and the exciting events that life has to offer, then the songs can almost be a secondary focus. That feels more authentic to me, because I really don't talk about my personal releases all that much in my relationships anyway, so me spamming the online community with messages SURELY reads as "inauthentic". I wrote a song about that actually...

           Moving forward

This summer, 2025, will be a momentous season for me. I will be getting out and performing more than I have ever before, in part because I've actually left my room. A crazy thought in this age of technology, but maybe the archaic way of playing shows and building a local fanbase is actually based in some sort of reality. Especially when that reality is Los Angeles California, where I've been fortunate enough to have been born and raised. I'll make a separate post for this, but I have begun planning a concert series that I will host for rising artists such as myself, to give them a venue and an opportunity to perform and get solid media for their press kits and hopefully generate a bit of an online buzz for them. From that point, it's really in their hands as to what opportunities that will create, but I believe having events like that to give artists their start is crucial in this day and age. Not everyone can make a viral post, but if you want to be an artist you have to be able to perform. You have to be able to give the audience a good show, and connect with people in a way that brings them closer to you. My songs are like a window into my soul, and it gives my listener a front row seat to my heart-ache, my joy, my boredom, my frustration, my universe. I believe that by allowing my listener to know me in this way, I'm giving back to the Creator who gave me this gift, and by connecting with others I will bring about the good of creativity into the world.

           Stay tuned, pun intended.

Exploring New Sounds: My Journey Into Lofi-Pop with My Upcoming EP

I'm thrilled to announce the release of my upcoming EP, dropping in late November. This project marks a new direction in my musical journey, as I explore a genre that’s both familiar and refreshing: lofi-pop. With smooth, laid-back vibes, this EP is perfect for chill car rides, studying, or just unwinding after a long day. Unlike my previous work in mainstream pop—where catchiness and marketability were always top of mind—this time, I wanted to create something that felt more organic, free-flowing, and true to my evolving sound.

In the past, I focused on crafting hyper-marketable pop hits with hooks designed to get stuck in your head. But for this EP, I decided to let go of those boundaries. I challenged myself to dive into the music without judgment or preconceived expectations. I simply allowed each song to take its own shape, guiding me rather than the other way around. It’s been a freeing process, and I’m excited to share this raw, honest side of my artistry with all of you.

How Inspiration Strikes: Creating Music Outside the Studio

One of the unique things about this project is that all the songs began outside of the studio. I’ve found that my best ideas often come when I’m least expecting them. Whether I’m out for a walk, driving, or just daydreaming, a melody, chorus, or even an idea for a sample will pop into my head. That initial spark gives me a clear direction, making it easier to bring the rest of the song to life once I’m back in the studio. Each track started with a unique idea that I nurtured into something meaningful and complete.

           Collaborating to Perfect the Sound

While much of this project is self-produced, I was lucky enough to have a couple of talented friends step in to offer their input and help polish the sound. Their fresh perspectives and feedback have been invaluable, and I’m incredibly grateful for their support. Their contributions have helped elevate the tracks, adding subtle touches that make the listening experience even richer.

Why This EP Is Different from My Previous Work

This EP represents a shift from my previous work, both in terms of genre and creative approach. Instead of focusing on catchy hooks and repetition, I embraced the freedom to create without limits. This new direction allowed me to step back from the highly polished pop formula and let each track breathe on its own. It’s been amazing to see how the music evolves when I allow myself to take a backseat and let the process unfold naturally.

What to Expect and How to Listen

If you’re looking for a soundtrack to accompany late-night study sessions, quiet moments of reflection, or scenic drives, I hope this EP becomes a staple in your playlist. My goal was to create something that resonates on a deeper level, and I can’t wait to see how it connects with each of you. So whether you’re a fan of lofi, pop, or just looking for something new to listen to, I hope you’ll give it a spin and share your thoughts.

I’m excited to bring this new sound to life and connect with all of you through these tracks. Stay tuned for the official release in late November, and thank you for being part of this journey with me. Your support means the world!

. Having fallen in love with her latest album, especially this track, I was inspired by its meteoric rise and the way it resonates with listeners everywhere. Sabrina’s original production has a unique charm, balancing space for vocals and drums in an understated but powerful way. For my cover, however, I wanted to bring something new to the table—a Midwest emo vibe that gives the song a different emotional landscape.

In my cover, I decided to center the sound around guitar, a deliberate choice to reframe the song’s emotional depth with a more instrument-driven feel. While Sabrina’s arrangement allows her vocals and drums to shine, I imagined a version that leans into the expressive power of guitar riffs, making it the focal point. This shift brings a new energy to the track while staying true to the heart of the original.

As a vocalist, I found that my voice has a bit more strength compared to Sabrina’s softer tone, so I adjusted the key down by a half-step to sit more naturally in my range, adding a grounded quality that complements the heavier guitar presence. One of my main goals was to capture the richness of Sabrina’s lush harmonies and vocal stacks. Her layered vocals add so much depth and warmth, and I aimed to replicate that feel by incorporating similar harmonies in my own voice. Emulating her adlibs and background vocals was particularly fun and gave me an even greater appreciation for her expressive style.

Crafting the Music Video: A Blend of Cinematic and Casual

Creating the music video for this cover presented its own unique challenges and rewards. Shooting between work hours meant I had to move quickly, often capturing shots in just one take. The result is a mix of high-value, cinematic still shots paired with spontaneous, vlog-style clips. This blend of formats was intentional—I wanted the video to feel organic and approachable, reflecting the song’s lighthearted tone and the fun I had making it. By pairing wide, steady shots with more in-the-moment footage, I think the video achieves an authentic energy without looking overly polished or staged.

In this project, I set out to celebrate the essence of Sabrina’s song while injecting my own style and personality into both the music and visuals. I hope my Midwest emo-inspired interpretation brings something fresh to Short and Sweet, resonating with fans of both Sabrina Carpenter and those who appreciate a guitar-forward, indie sound. I had an amazing time bringing this cover to life, and I’m excited to share it with you all.

I've written a lot of music. At the time of writing

I had probably written a thousand or so songs. A lot of them followed the same formula, others emulated things that I listened to, but this project was entirely my own. I created this song as part of a class that I took on Monthly with Ryan Tedder, so it had a deadline for the rough version, but I felt like that version was actually very close to what would be the final.

But I'm getting a little ahead of myself. How did it start?

This song was the second project in my monthly class, and it was centered around making a danceable tune with a high-energy chorus. So naturally I started with the chorus. I sort of mumbled a chorus melody that I had absolutely no words for, but I knew it felt right. Eventually the words "I need you to know" came to me, and the first phrase "cuz there's something 'bout your smile, that drives me wild." From there, I was pretty much off to the races.

I remember shortly after writing the chorus and the verse of the song, I met up with some of my friends on a hike (we called it "Plant hike" because our biology major friends would point out the various flora and recite their taxonomy for us, a novelty really, but a neat party trick) and I told them "Guys I think I've got a really good song coming soon." I had the foresight to actually bounce a file of it, and they gave it a listen and said "Dude I need this song NOW!!!" which is always nice to hear.

           Song production

So like I said earlier, at this point I had a verse, which consisted of a cool and spacious baseline, some claps that I recorded myself and stacked together to sound like a group, a kick sample, and an octave double of my vocal underneath the lead. I really like it when choruses feel a lot bigger than the verse, and seemingly come out of nowhere, and I think this song is an example of my preference for that kind of production. I also practiced following Ryan Tedder's

           4 bar rule

which basically states, every 4 bars of a song needs to add a new element to make it build. It doesn't have to be something that takes up a lot of space, it just has to be different to keep the listener engaged. So whether that's adding in a hi-hat, changing the melody to a pre-chorus melody, switching the baseline, adding a new synth part, adding a vocal layer, etc. it just needs to keep you hooked and listening all the way through. I think this philosophy is really smart for pop writing, and I still follow it today.

For the chorus, I built a foundation with the ovox vocal ReSynthesizer from waves, and that thing is so much fun to play around with, I feel like I always get a cool vocal reharmonization when I'm done. From there, I structured the chords and harmonies around the tones I was getting from the Ovox instrument and found the main progression. Sometimes, it can be hard to work with, because the overtones of that thing get a little out of hand, so I'll EQ out the bits I don't like and the things that clash with the chords I'm hearing, but in this case, I really wanted it to carry a lot of the space and weight of the chorus so I pretty much just let it be.

           Song Philosophy

Now I feel like I should address more songwriting philosophy: variance. I HATE when I listen to a song, and I can predict exactly what the next verse and next chorus is going to sound like, and I know the exact bar structure and exact melody and all the instruments just based off of what I heard from the first chorus and verse. So I always make sure the first verse and the second verse sound different and distinct, even if the lead melody is the same. That way, if anyone is listening to just a part of my song, they should be able to tell me if it's the first verse or the second verse if they've heard the song enough times. Same with choruses. The second chorus should always be bigger than the first, but shouldn't have any more core elements than the first. That's something that's really hard to negotiate with songwriting and producing. For example, in my song

           Mixed Signals

I made the mistake of the first chorus being too much of a drop chorus and the second chorus is really where the song begins to shine. I wanted to try something new, for the sake of variance, but I went a little too extreme on that song. They almost sound like two completely separate songs from chorus to chorus.

So my second chorus adds guitars, harmonies, hi-hats, and some textural elements to make it a different listening experience compared to the first chorus, but still has the core synthesizers, vocal layers, and beat as the first chorus. Then the song takes a twist and skips the traditional bridge section popularized by 2000's pop songs, and just goes straight into another chorus, or a double chorus. I like this approach when the choruses are contrasting enough to make it interesting, and I think I accomplished that with this song because the last chorus is a drop chorus for half of it (pretty much only vocals and claps) and then comes back in at full force while maintaining the new elements developed in the drop chorus.

           Production Tricks

So we made it through the structure of the song, and A LOT of my song writing philosophy, but here's some weird things I did with this recording:

The octave down vocal melody was using Little Alter Boy by SoundToys, I had just purchased this plugin and decided to mess around with it here, definitely worthwhile.

The laugh before the second chorus was just an impromptu "oh I think this would sound cool" moment. I like putting little elements of humanity into my songs that show I'm more than just a song machine. Although that laugh was entirely fabricated and I did it just to sound cool.

Vocal harmonies in the drop chorus. I've always loved the sound of vocal Resynthesizers, and I had Ovox, but it wasn't giving me the sound I wanted (thinking of

             give

            it that sound.

Claps. I recorded about 2 bars of me clapping on the 2 and 4 beats, and then just cut them and stacked them all on top of each other into one clap "sound" to make the claps really meaty and sound like a audience clapping. I use this a lot for different production elements where I have a short transient sound that I want to make sound huge.

Put all that together and you have

           Need You to Know

plain and simple. I submitted that version for my class and people really liked it, and the peers who reviewed it in my class said they noticed my improvement from the last song, so I was really happy with the product.

After that, I "mixed" and "mastered" it according to Ryan Tedder's instructions (Ryan really didn't teach much about this process, and if I can, I might go back and re-release this song with the knowledge I have now about mixing and mastering) and released it.

, has not only been released but has also been featured on the Rising Artists blog! As an artist, it’s always a special moment to see your work recognized by others, and having my music spotlighted on such an influential platform feels truly rewarding. The blog highlighted the essence of the track and gave readers a glimpse into the artistry behind the music. I’m excited to bring you into the story behind Mixed Signals and what it means to me.

The Creative Process Behind Mixed Signals

Mixed Signals was a labor of love, where every element was a reflection of my journey and emotions. I wrote, performed, mixed, and mastered the track myself, pouring my heart into each step of the process. The song is about navigating the ups and downs of trying to connect with someone in a city as dynamic as Los Angeles, where moments are fleeting and people are always on the move. It captures that feeling of being introverted yet stepping out of my comfort zone in the most honest, fun-loving way I could express.

Rising Artists blog perfectly described it as a "pure digital adventure," and I couldn’t agree more. The production journey allowed me to explore new dimensions in sound and storytelling. In this track, I’m not just a singer; I’m a storyteller, a producer, and a dreamer. By incorporating singing and rap elements, I aimed to add layers that keep listeners engaged from start to finish.

Behind the Lyrics: The Story of Mixed Signals

The lyrics reflect my personal experiences in LA’s social scene. Growing up in a bustling city full of life, I’ve always felt a little shy when approaching someone new, especially in settings like bars or parties. There’s an underlying excitement but also a vulnerability in those moments, and that’s what I wanted to bring out in the song. I wanted listeners to feel the awkwardness, the hope, and the adrenaline of making a connection with someone you’re drawn to.

The Rising Artists review mentioned the standout line: “I was stalling for more time/ cuz your looks, they got me hooked, I’m your catch tonight.” These lyrics capture that tension and the desire to put yourself out there despite the nerves.

A Unique Sound That Sets Mixed Signals Apart

What excites me most about Mixed Signals is the blend of styles I managed to achieve. The song transitions from smooth melodies into rap at around the 2:10 mark, adding a different energy to the track. I wanted to surprise listeners and offer something that felt fresh and original. It’s not just a song—it’s an experience. That’s what makes it special; it’s not just about the music but about telling a story in a way that’s entertaining and relatable.

Rising Artists recognized this, stating, “This track is perfect for those looking for a new artist that can bring something to the table that others often struggle with: originality, great structure, and even tone.” It’s this recognition that fuels my passion even more, inspiring me to keep pushing the boundaries and deliver music that resonates.

The production of "Mixed Signals" involves layering upbeat synthesizers over punchy, minimalist drums, creating a soundscape that's both nostalgic and fresh. This fusion of styles is a reflection of my musical inspirations and my desire to create music that bridges the gap between different eras of pop music.

Lyrically, the song delves into the dichotomy of feeling shy and reserved while growing up in the vibrant and dynamic city of Los Angeles. LA is a place known for its boldness and flamboyance, and navigating that environment as someone more introverted presented its own set of challenges and inspirations. "Mixed Signals" captures that internal conflict—the push and pull between wanting to stand out and the comfort of blending in.

One aspect of the song that I'm particularly proud of is how the vocals serve as the centerpiece. Mesmerized.io notes that the vocals "take center stage, drawing the listeners into the summery tune with gravitas and charm." This was a deliberate choice. I wanted the vocals to carry the emotional weight of the song, guiding the listener through the narrative while complementing the energetic instrumentation.

The chorus, in particular, is designed to be both catchy and relatable. Crafting a hook that stays with the listener long after the song has ended is one of the most challenging yet rewarding aspects of songwriting. Hearing that the chorus has the power to "kidnap" the audience, as the article puts it, is incredibly fulfilling.

Having "Mixed Signals" featured on Mesmerized.io is a significant milestone, but it's also just the beginning. This recognition fuels my passion to continue creating music that resonates with people on a personal level. I'm excited about the projects currently in the pipeline, many of which continue to explore themes of self-discovery, personal growth, and the complexities of human emotion.

           The Journey Behind "Mixed Signals"

"Mixed Signals" isn’t just another single for me—it’s the culmination of years of growth, hard work, and experimentation. This track takes listeners through a vulnerable and relatable story about the challenges of modern relationships, particularly the social dynamics that play out in clubs and bars. I wrote this song from personal experience, reflecting on how uncomfortable I often feel in nightlife environments. The song explores the tension between wanting to connect with someone in a fun, lighthearted way and the uneasiness that comes with the casual, one-night-stand culture that often defines those spaces.

," I envisioned myself in a bar, talking to a girl. As the night progresses, I start to get to know her, and we discover shared interests. But there’s a catch—I decide to leave because I’m not comfortable with the idea of a one-night stand, despite wanting to impress her. This internal conflict, this struggle of sending and receiving mixed signals, is something I think many people can relate to. In the Fatty Strap interview, I explained that "Mixed Signals" is a track where I ask: “Is there anyone else out there like me who enjoys the fun and energy of nightlife but doesn’t feel comfortable with how things often end?”

The track itself pairs these introspective lyrics with upbeat, club-like instrumentals, creating a blend of emotions that I hope will resonate with listeners on multiple levels. You can dance to it, but you can also feel the weight of the story behind it.

One of the most exciting things about "Mixed Signals" is that it marks a shift in my songwriting and production style. For the first time, I experimented with a rap verse towards the end of the track. This was a huge step outside of my comfort zone, but it felt completely natural. As I mentioned in the Fatty Strap interview, I’ve been working on incorporating rap into my music for a while, and it felt like the right time to take the plunge.

The production on "Mixed Signals" is also a standout moment in my career. I’ve always strived for a polished, professional sound, but this time I took it to another level. The folks at Fatty Strap compared the production quality to that of an Ariana Grande track, which is such a huge compliment. I spent countless hours layering the instruments and making sure the mix was just right—creating a full, clutter-free sound that feels big and immersive.

In the interview, I talked about how my six-month mixing class in my final semester of college helped me level up my production skills. I always had a basic understanding of mixing, but diving deep into the technical aspects of it allowed me to fine-tune my skills in a way that’s now evident in the track. I even offered some advice for newer artists: “If you’re serious about making music, take a mixing class. It can truly transform your sound.”

           A New Release Strategy

During the Fatty Strap interview, I also reflected on the rollout of my debut album Summitless, which came out last year. While I’m proud of how the album performed, I learned that I want to focus on releasing singles for the foreseeable future. As I told Fatty Strap, releasing albums is a big endeavor, and I want to give each song the attention it deserves.

So instead of dropping another album right away, I’m embarking on a new strategy: releasing a single every other month. This will allow me to focus on the individual marketing and promotion of each track, targeting specific audiences and building momentum organically. Once I have a collection of singles that feel cohesive, I plan to release them as part of a larger album. But rather than just compiling the singles, I’ll curate them to create an overarching theme, possibly adding new tracks or remixes to tie everything together.

"Mixed Signals" is the first release in this new chapter of my career. After this, you can expect a new single sometime in July, featuring a collaboration with lofi musician Clarke John. I’m excited about this partnership, and I can’t wait for you all to hear what we’ve been working on.

Engaging With My Fans: Social Media and Twitch

In addition to focusing on my music, I’ve also been putting a lot of effort into engaging with my fans through social media. Over the past six to eight months, I’ve been consistently creating content that not only showcases my music but also my personality and creative process. I believe that building genuine connections with my audience is just as important as getting streams on Spotify.

I’m active on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube, where I post a mix of music-related content, aesthetic visuals, and fun community posts. Recently, I’ve even been experimenting with live streams on Twitch, where I invite my audience to watch me work on new music in real-time. Whether I’m producing, mixing, or just practicing vocals, these live streams give fans a behind-the-scenes look at my process.

I’m a firm believer that social media should be about quality over quantity. Instead of chasing trends or trying to get viral hits, I focus on making content that will attract a niche audience—people who are genuinely interested in my music and what I have to offer. That’s why I always strive to keep my social media authentic and aligned with who I am as an artist. And as Fatty Strap pointed out, it’s often easier to get discovered through platforms like Instagram or TikTok before people head over to Spotify to listen to your music.

I’m excited to share that my debut EP Summitless was recently featured in an exclusive interview on Fatty Strap, where I had the opportunity to discuss the story behind the music, my creative philosophy, and the direction I’m taking as an artist. This feature comes at a pivotal time in my career as I continue to explore new sounds, ideas, and ways of connecting with listeners through my music. In the interview, I was able to go deep into the themes behind Summitless and what I hope listeners will take away from this project. You can check out the

           The Vision Behind Summitless

Summitless, which dropped on January 28, is an EP that’s especially close to my heart. The concept of the album is all about limitless potential and growth. I wanted to create a project that would inspire listeners to believe that they can keep going, no matter what obstacles are in their way. There’s no “peak” in this journey—only continuous forward movement. As I explained in my Fatty Strap interview, the title Summitless reflects the idea that there’s no end point to the path we’re on. The EP takes you on a musical journey that mirrors this belief, with each track inviting listeners to come along for the ride.

The EP is a personal one, filled with tracks that reflect my thoughts, experiences, and ambitions. And what makes it even more special is that it’s entirely self-written, self-produced, and self-promoted. Every beat, every lyric, and every layer of sound in Summitless came from a very personal place, and I’m proud to say that this project is a true reflection of who I am as an artist at this point in my life. In the Fatty Strap interview, I explained that I’ve always been hands-on with my music, and that DIY ethic is something I carry through every aspect of my career—from writing the songs to producing and mixing them.

One of the coolest aspects of this project is the album art, which was created by my good friend and roommate Aaron. I love how the artwork complements the themes of the EP, and it’s a great example of how music and visual art can come together to tell a bigger story. Aaron’s work really adds a personal touch to the project, and I’m excited for people to see and hear the full package when they listen to Summitless.

           My Record Label: BABL Records

Another exciting development that I discussed in the Fatty Strap interview is my record label, BABL Records. The name is a reference to my initials (B.A.B.) as well as the Tower of Babel from the Bible, which represents the idea that humanity can achieve great things when united. That idea of unity and community-building is central to my vision for BABL Records. I want this label to be more than just a business venture—I want it to create a real sense of connection among people who share similar values and goals.

In the interview, I talked about how my dream is to use BABL Records as a platform to do more than just release music. I hope to one day start community service initiatives, like cleaning up Los Angeles, because I believe that music and social action go hand in hand. BABL Records is all about bringing people together, whether it’s through music, art, or making a positive impact on the world around us. It’s about creating a space where artists and fans alike can come together, support each other, and work toward something greater.

The Songs and Themes of Summitless

Summitless is filled with songs that reflect my thoughts on life, relationships, and personal growth. Each track on the EP brings something different to the table, and I’m proud of how it all came together. In the Fatty Strap interview, I had a chance to talk about some of the inspiration behind my previous work, including

           my first EP

, Lessons Learned in Quarantine. That EP was a product of its time—created during the isolation of 2020 when I was stuck at home, reflecting on past experiences and imagining future possibilities.

One of the songs I mentioned in the interview was "Crazy," a track from Lessons Learned in Quarantine that’s about a fictional girl who’s a little off the rails, based loosely on experiences I’ve had in real life. Another song I talked about was "The Man Who Never Cried," which took a more introspective approach. That song was a turning point for me because it forced me to reflect on how I was distancing myself from friends and relationships due to the isolation of quarantine. Music became a cathartic outlet for me, and writing that song helped me reconnect with the people I care about.

With Summitless, I wanted to take that same level of introspection and apply it to a broader theme of personal growth and ambition. The idea of climbing a mountain without a summit represents the never-ending journey of self-improvement, and I hope listeners can relate to that idea in their own lives. The EP has a hopeful, upbeat feel, but it’s also deeply personal, and I think it offers something for everyone—whether you’re looking for a catchy hook or something more meaningful to reflect on.

My Musical Influences and Creative Process

In the interview, I also had the chance to talk about my creative process and the influences that shape my sound. I draw from a wide variety of genres, but at the end of the day, my music is always rooted in what feels genuine to me. I love experimenting with different sounds and textures, but I always try to keep things catchy and relatable. I’ve often described my music as “old pop”—a mix of traditional pop elements with a more experimental edge. I want to create music that’s familiar but fresh at the same time.

When it comes to my songwriting process, I usually start with a hook or melody that I can’t get out of my head. From there, I build out the rest of the track, layering in vocals, instruments, and production elements until it feels right. Every song I create is a reflection of something I’ve experienced or something I’m working through in my life, and I hope that personal touch comes through in the music.

Faith and Music: A Moral Framework

One thing that often comes up in my music is my Christian faith, which I discussed briefly in the Fatty Strap interview. While I don’t necessarily write songs that preach or focus heavily on religious themes, my faith definitely influences how I approach life and how I treat others. I like to think of it as a moral framework for my songwriting. I try to avoid the more superficial, materialistic themes that are common in a lot of modern pop music. Instead, I want my songs to reflect deeper values—whether that’s in the way I describe relationships, life challenges, or the world around me.

I don’t think music has to be overtly religious to have a positive impact, but I do believe that the values we hold influence the art we create. In my case, faith plays a role in how I navigate the music industry and how I connect with my audience. I want my music to be something that people can listen to and feel good about—not just in terms of the sound, but also in terms of the message.

As I continue promoting Summitless, I’m already thinking about what’s next. There’s so much I want to accomplish, both musically and through BABL Records. One thing I’m particularly excited about is the idea of using my platform to launch more community service initiatives. I’ve always been passionate about giving back, and I think BABL Records has the potential to be a force for good in the world, beyond just releasing music.
